Family Weekends & Vacations

Many families vacation in our area, whether their focus is backpacking in the Trinity Alps Wilderness, fishing, rafting, or just hanging out here and enjoying the beauty of the area.  Indian Creek Lodge is a great base camp for all types of family vacations and getaways.

Here are comments from a few of our vacationing guests:

Our family (and pets) enjoyed staying at your lodge tremendously. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you so much for working out the accommodations for us. We had plenty of room and wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy your place more. We look forward to staying there again.

Thank you for the generosity you have shown to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Sacramento and Northeastern California.  We are so grateful for your generous donation of a 2-bedroom kitchenette for 3 nights. Your generosity helps us to keep our costs low, which enables us to grant more wishes.  Our wish child thoroughly enjoyed his one true wish to go salmon fishing in the north state along the Trinity River.   He was thrilled to catch such a large salmon!  They truly had the trip of a lifetime and appreciated the VIP treatment provided every day.  Somewhere in the world – every hour of every day – a child sees his or her fondest dream come true.  Your donation reflects an appreciation for our mission, and we’re grateful for your support.

Twenty nine years ago, our family began our love affair with Indian Creek Lodge and the Trinity River.  Our 7 month old son was in a backpack when  we ventured out the back door  of our studio unit to the beautiful Trinity. That 7 month old is now 29 and his sister 24 and almost every President’s weekend since that first adventure has we brought us back to Indian Creek.  We’ve seen the lodge’s ownership change many times in nearly three decades and none compare to the current innkeepers, John and Elena.  Guests are treated as exactly that—they clearly care about guests’ comfort and needs.  Whether you are a fishing enthusiast, outdoor adventurer or history buff, there is much to enjoy while staying at Indian Creek Lodge on the banks of the Trinity River.

What a pleasant stay we had at Indian Creek Lodge.  Owners John & Elena Letton were incredibly friendly and personable.  They made us feel like welcomed friends.  The rooms were immaculately clean and spacious.  Kitchenettes were well supplied.  The two-room suite we stayed in was tastefully decorated and fresh.  Each accommodation on our row had a BBQ and picnic table out in the pack patio with full view of the nearby river running though.  We would highly recommend this beautiful place to everyone.

We really enjoyed our stay over Memorial day weekend. We visit family in the area a couple times a year and we hope to stay at Indian Creek Lodge on all of our future trips. We loved the location and the room. It was so nice. Thank you for the really nice hospitality. We plan to visit the area in October and again during Thanksgiving.

Staying at the Indian Creek Lodge this summer was a great way to spend our family vacation. We have 4 kids and the accommodations were large and comfortable. The kitchen and bbq allowed us to enjoy some of our own meals along with checking out some of the surrounding restaurants and the theater in Weaverville. The kids also loved the pool and game room. The lodge is owned by a family who take excellent care of you and are very helpful. The highlight of our trip was a river rafting trip down the Trinity River which was thrilling enough for my sons and safe enough for my youngest daughter. If you are looking to get away to somewhere different, not crowded, and stunningly beautiful, you will not be disappointed in a visit to Trinity County and the Indian Creek Lodge.

Our family enjoy our brief stay at Indian Creek Lodge very much. It was very peaceful and exactly what we needed.  We spend so much time rushing from place to place and we rarely stay over, unless at our destination. This time we decided to make a stop, and picked a winner!  We went north up hwy 3, saw some wildlife, then up to Medford to meet our newest niece. Of course the trip back was our typical I-5 non stop back to Santa Rosa, but because of our stay at Indian Creek we arrived home feeling rested, refreshed and recharged.  We will recommend this oasis to friends and family.

We really enjoyed our stay at Indian creek lodge.  The staff were curteous and very helpful.  My only wish is that we could have stayed longer.  Thanks and we look forward to staying with you again.

We had a great weekend at Indian Creek Lodge.  The Lodge was so clean and the staff was great.  We thoroughly enjoyed our time there!  When we make it back up in the near future, we definitely will be staying there again.

I have only good things to say about staying with you this weekend.  The apartment was wonderful!  I could easily move in and stay forever.  It was so clean and well equipped – right down to the perfect Margarita glasses!  My grandson and the other kids felt right at home—the weekend was a total success for them too.  And, the help carrying my stuff up the stairs was much appreciated.

“Indian Creek Lodge looks sort of quaint from the outside, but far from that on the inside! We were more than pleasantly surprised when we walked in. It was spacious and immaculately clean. Decorated just so cute!  The river is just a very short walk away. The owners could not have helped us any more. They are just great!!  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will go back. This place is more than great! It is a retreat! BEST KEPT SECRET in the area.”

John and the Gang,

Thank you so much for the great hospitality and friendly service. The staff went out of their way to make sure your stay is as enjoyable as possible. Since our group had never visited the area before, the information you willingly passed on (ie; fishing reports, local attractions, etc.) was added value to our stay. We found the rooms more than adequate for our group with plenty of room, cleanliness, comfortable beds and other amenities.

It was very convenient to be able to use the BBQ and the kitchenette for our meals. Very inviting view of the Trinity River right from our back patio while BBQ’ing. The Indian Creek Lodge was a great “home base” for our fishing trip, and we will definitely return for more visits in the future.

Thanks again for the warm friendly service and we look forward to our next visit.”

“I have been fishing, kayaking, & rafting the Trinity River for 20 years but never stayed at Indian Creek Lodge until last week.  What a nice surprise.  The owners are obviously investing a lot of time and effort—nice to see a well maintained, clean place run by such nice folks.  Everything we need for the fishing trips with the boys and/or with the family.  I plan to rally the troops and bring the ladies and kids before steelhead season winds down.”

“We had a great time. The professional greetings and attitude displayed made us feel at home and part of the growing family of friends of Indian Creek Lodge. The fishing was great the rooms are outstanding. Well kept and homey. Job well done. We will be back in a month or two for steelhead fishing.”

“We had a wonderful time at the lodge. It was our first Thanksgiving after getting engaged. It was nice to be able to cook a simple meal in the kitchenette. What a lovely treat to wake up to several inches of snow on Friday morning. We hope to come back again soon.”

“We have stayed at the Indian Creek Lodge for several years and made it our home base for our summer vacation. The Lewiston Area is a solid reminder of where I grew up in Oregon and the Lodge fits right in with those memories. It also is a reminder of the places we have stayed while touring New Zealand. We particularly enjoy the fact that when we stay there, we have our own kitchen and patio, and the fact that our dog can roam and romp around in the pasture between the lodge and the Trinity River just a few hundred feet away. And, the swimming pool is great on those hot summer afternoons. But, perhaps the greatest thing is that we feel at home–like we have staked a claim and the place is ours.”

“Spending a week at the Indian Creek Lodge during summer vacation has been a family tradition for the past 10 years. We enjoy going down to the river exploring, fishing, picking blue berries, drifting down the river in our dingy, reading or just soaking up the beauty. We like taking trips into downtown Weaverville visiting the antique shops, the museum, the old movie house and the used book store and then coming back to the lodge and spending lazy afternoons swimming in the pool, reading, and playing cards or board games while we grill burgers on the bbq. The beauty and serenity offered at the Indian Creek Lodge is unparalleled!”

“Our stay at the lodge was was comfortable and enjoyable. (12/17-22). Catching lots of steelhead was an extra plus. We liked the layout of your place with the easy in and out pulling a trailer and appreciate the parking space for dropping off the boat. Our room (2 beds & kitchenette) was a pleasant surprise in that we expected cramped quarters, instead had plenty of space for our gear and the beds were very comfortable. Next visit we will take advantage of the outdoor grill also. The Indian Creek Lodge is perfect for fishing & hunting, and my family/friends and I will take advantage of it from now on.”

“On a recent trip to Eureka, we spent a night at the Indian Creek Lodge, right on the Trinity River outside of Douglas City. Both the bedroom and bathroom were clean and spacious, and the room was decorated with nice touches, such as wood paneling and a pretty wooden armoire, housing the modern flat screen TV. A small refrigerator and a microwave were also available. The location right next to the river was lovely. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.”

“We have made Indian Creek Lodge a holiday tradition for the past couple of years. The new owners have done a wonderful job of updating the rooms and making you feel at home. With our two Brittany Spaniels in tow, we all enjoy the spacious river front property and convenient private boat launch where we have access to some of the best fly fishing. We will be back again next year looking for the “New Year” party in downtown Weaverville.”

The Indian Creek Lodge is fabulous: quiet, serene, beautiful, right on the river.  Seeing the fog lift in the early morning was . . . great.  The room was perfect, although I wouldn’t call it a “room”, it’s more a full size two bedroom apartment!  next time I  will bring my buddies from fishing club and we can all stay in the same unit.  My six year old son and I enjoyed walking down to the river and fining a great fishing hole just in “our” backyard.  He was really excited about the salmon jumping right in front of him.  My wife also enjoyed staying with you, she enjoyed the area and she really liked the comfortable and well equipped apartment.  There was great hiking and sightseeing just a few miles away.  We will be back!

We had a wonderful stay! The kids really enjoyed the pool and all the other terrific recreation activities on site. Our unit worked very well for our family, and the little kitchen was surprisingly efficiently designed, very functional for a small space.  We will certainly stay at Indian Creek Lodge when we visit the area again–it’s so beautiful, welcoming and comfortable. We loved the picnic table/grill area out back — lovely views and so relaxing! Hope to be back before too long to see the progress with the paths
and lawns out to the River.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Lodge. We have already decided to come back (room 11) and stay for a longer period next time we are in the area. Everything was very clean and the beds were very good.  Kids loved it, so we loved it.

Our massage therapist recommended the Indian Creek Lodge to us. We were attending my brother’s wedding in Weaverville for 3 days.  Much to our delight we were greeted with clean comfy beds, the cutest kitchenand an amazing view of our surroundings. No doubt in our minds we will stay here every time we come up to visit. The highlight of our trip was when John the owner pointed out an American Bald Eagle to us sitting in the treetop…All we could say was WOW!

We were pleasantly surprised by the careful attention to the cleanliness of the rooms and bath.  My wife says the kitchenette was a real delight and surpassed her expectations.  The meadow with the close proximity of the river in the background makes it a special setting.  We thought everything was remarkably well thought out and we will be visiting Indian Creek Lodge again!

We had a wonderful time at Indian Creek Lodge. The room was very clean and spacious and a very comfy bed. The golfing was wonderful and the people were very kicked back and very accommodating.  The package you guys offer is a wonderful offer and so affordable, in fact I have told all my friends about it and they will be visiting very soon. Over all it was a wonderful weekend, thanks so much, I wouldn’t change a thing, it was perfect.
