Groups, Reunions, and Retreats

Bring your fishing club, family reunion, company retreat, wedding, or other special event to Indian Creek Lodge for the right combination of a beautiful setting, comfort, and privacy.

Here are comments from a few groups that have stayed with us:

Our large group of annual Trinity River tubers/rafters has been staying at the Indian Creek Lodge for many years, but our 2010 trip was by far the best! The new owners have obviously put a lot of time and effort into upgrading the rooms, including replacing the very outdated and worn furniture with some nice-looking and functional pieces. They have also cleared the land at the back of the lodge enough that guests can enjoy a clear view of the river while they relax and enjoy the BBQ areas in the back of the kitchenette rooms, but have left just the right amount of trees and undergrowth in place to complement the river view. They have a very nice pool, and there is also a nice, wide cleared path over to the Indian Creek at the north end of the Lodge, providing easy access to a great shallow creek play area for kids of all ages to enjoy. We are very much looking forward to our 2011 visit to the Lodge!

Our rafting group of about 30 people has been staying at ICL each summer for many years. This year (2010) the newest owners, John and Elena, have really done a lot. The lodge has always had a remote country charm, but the folks have brought it into the 21st century. Lots of fresh, clean new touches such as fixtures and artwork–not to mention all of the facilities and appliances (AC) working properly–make for a comfortable stay. The folks are genuinely friendly and accomodating. That, as much as anything, makes staying at Indian Creek a pleasure not to be missed.

I really enjoyed the Scrap Happens retreat we attended at Indian Creek Lodge.  The facility was extremely clean, the view of the river & mountains beautiful, and the staff warm, welcoming & friendly.

I look forward to visiting Indian Creek Lodge again!

I’ve been going to scrapbook retreats for a long time now and the Scrap Happens retreat at the lovely Indian Creek Lodge was the best!!  I loved our room!!  It was so quaint, clean, and quiet.  I really love the outdoors and the river right there in the backyard was wonderful!  I think I will bring my fishing pole next time.  The scrapebooking room was big, with of course the lovely view again!  All of the scrapbookers were talking about how fun it would be to go back up there with our families too!  I am so glad that the lodge has been “saved” by the new owners—it’s a treasure.

For several years now I’ve made the long trip north for an annual reunion with special friends at the Indian Creek Lodge. Despite the fact that we over-run the place with our numbers and festivities, the new owners have been welcoming, and more than accommodating. Service with a smile, flexible, downright charming. Can’t wait to come back next year!

A group of buddies and I have taken a fall Trinity River fishing vacation for a few years and never stayed at the same place twice. We have always driven right past Indian Creek Lodge due to its former lack of curb appeal and I’m happy to say it looks very welcoming now. We found the Lodge to be exactly what we were seeking: clean, quiet rooms with hot showers and comfortable beds. We’re pretty easy to please when resting our weary bones; however, we found the :Lodge’s location and comfort to be someplace we will definitely return to.

Thanks to Indian Creek Lodge for a spectacular weekend for ur steelhead fishing trip on the Trinity River.  What a magnificent time of year to be in that neck of the woods.  The fall colors were stunning – vibrant reds and golds everywhere and teh weather was perfect.  We drifted a part of the river that looked like it had been crafted by nature and unaltered by man – breathtaking.  And, the fishing was good. Every night we’d come back for appetizers and dinner in the elegant cafe at the Lodge.  The proprietors give attention to every detail.  The rooms are roomy and comfortable, very mountain chic; the food was ample and delicious; and the cafe was warm and inviting.  the atmosphere allowed people to relax and get to know each other over food and wine.  It was difficult leaving.  I felt pampered and invigorated all at the same time.  I guess its how everyonoe feels at Indian Creek Lodge.  Best place to stay in the north state!

Indian Creek Lodge did an awesome job for my October 2010 weekend Couples’ Workshop. the participants loved the rooms and the meeting room was perfect.  The staff was present, without hovering and violating our privacy, but right there if we needed someone.  The caterer did a great job and contributed to the overall success of the workshop.  I really like how the Lodge is only 40 minutes from Redding, but with its location right on the Trinity River, feels worlds away from town.  I highly recommend Indian Creek Lodge fro your meeting or workshop.  Quiet, elegant, homey, comfortable and affordable, all in the same package.  We are looking forward to our next scheduled workshop at Indian Creek Lodge.

We had a very pleasant stay at Indian Creek Lodge which is both clean and centrally located for fishing the Trinity.  The staff was friendly and attentive to every need, giving reassuring care to my worries about the snow level for driving home.  The dining room was perfect for our GWWF/Mayflies social event.  I will certainly suggest Indian Creek Lodge to my fishing friends-it’s beautiful there.

The Shasta Mayflies and Golden West Women Flyfishers held their annual steelhead outing for twenty members at the Trinity River in November.  This was our first time staying at Indian Creek Lodge, but it will surely not be our last.  The location was perfect–the Lodge sits right on the Trinity in prime steelhead waters–there are several promising fishing spots within walking distance.  The Lodge also offers a convenient place to launch or take out drift boats between Steel Bridge and Douglas City. This was ideal since we have a mix of anglers, some who prefer to wade and others who wish to fish via guide boat. The newly refurbished rooms were comfortable and clean, with excellent TV reception anda sporadic wi-fi network.  Some of the rooms have small kitchenettes with a stove top, small refrigerator and microwave oven, and barbeque grills were available and in good condition.  This was improtant to us since we were planning potlucks for 20 plus people on two evenings.  We held our potlucks in their larger meeting room and then a smaller meeting room for some instructional events.  It worked out beautifully.  The staff was very pleasant and accommodating, and they were always available with suggestioins for fishing, dining, and shopping, as well as weather conditions which is important during steelhead season.  Indian Creek Lodge offers a comfortable, clean and convenient base for fishing and exploring the Trinity River.  It is a well maintained property, with value and service above the local alternatives.

We had the absolute best family reunion at Indian Creek Lodge in August 2010.  Our whole family (there were a lot of us) enjoyed the park like setting, the lawn chairs under the trees to sit and visit with a cold drink, the varied room choices, the pool for the kids, and the delightful short drive to Steel Bridge Road for a perfect tubing ride back to the lodge.  There is no place on earth so relaxing!  The family was ready to make reservations for next year before we left.  By the way, the rates were more than reasonable.  I rate Indian Creek . . . Ideal!!

“Looking for a place to hold a family reunion or large party?  Indian Creek Lodge is just the place. The location is perfect, with something for everyone to enjoy. I hosted a party for my father’s 80th birthday at the Lodge in September of 09.  We had  20+ family members and friends who stayed at the Lodge and they were very comfortable in the newly remodeled- cheerful rooms. The party was a huge success and many thanks to John and Elena for all the extra things you did to help make this a special and memorable event for our family.”

On the weekend of November 18, 2011 thirty-eight Golden West Women Flyfishers and ShastaMayflies from Redding, some husbands and Jim Andras of AndrasOutfitters descended upon the Indian Creek Lodge in Douglas City for a weekend of steelhead fishing.  We were welcomed by the owners and staff – John, Elena and Kurt.  The hospitality was superb – our rooms were cozy, warm and comfortable! We enjoyed the exceptional conference room where we had a terrific speaker, Nancy, who told us about the wonders of the steelhead. Completing our adventuress fishing days on the Trinity River either wading or being with a guide in a boat brought us home to a fun filled buffet dinner in the conference room with our fishing companions and the staff who delighted us by playing a game of history questions???  A wonderful weekend was had by all and I, for one, will return soon to this wonderful Indian Creek Lodge.
