2020 Summer Fishing Report

The pic below speaks for itself but keep reading if you want the details!

Salmon Season is Open!

Initial reports from those seeking their bounty of Chinook were quite bad. Low water releases from a dry year, and small counts of spring run fish, were the sad signs of a slow start to the season.

Were.

Weeks into the season, the persistent anglers of the Trinity have shown a turn in the tide. Fair numbers of adult Chinook have been spotted holding near the confluence of the Trinity River and Weaver Creek. Boats on the water have begun reporting positive days, evening the average score of anglers on the Trinity since opening day.

At this moment, frequent fishing folk are finding favorable footing on Lewiston & Whiskeytown lakes. Some have even split their time between river days and lake days in search of the glee of a taut monofilament, glinting in the sunlight.
