Fishing Guides

Many fishing guides from out of the area stay with us during steelhead season, and many more guides recommend Indian Creek Lodge to their clients.  We truly are steelhead and salmon headquarters on the Trinity River.

Here’s what some of the pros have to say:

Being a full time guide and wanting the best experience for my clients, we recommend our clients to stay at Indian Creek Lodge. The lodge is located on the Trinity River near where we fish. With a friendly staff, clean rooms and reasonably priced, you won’t be disappointed.

I always recommend Indian Creek Lodge, it is in the heart of some of the best salmon, steelhead and brown trout fishing in California. There is great fishing within minutes almost year round. They also have a great boat launch out back to begin or end a day on the Trinity River. John, Elena and crew have done a great job at the lodge since taking over in 2009. My clients always have wonderful things to say about their stay there.

“Indian Creek Lodge sits at the hear of the Upper Trinity salmon and steelhead runs. It is a great location for all fishermen, as most of the guide trips that are done in this area either start or finish at the Indian Creek river access. Also, some of the best salmon and steelhead runs and pools are within a five minute drive of the Lodge.
The Lodge has one of the best brown trout holes on the upper river where 10 pound browns are caught every year—no more than a two minute walk from your room.

Indian Creek Lodge offers clean, comfortable, reasonably priced lodging where on day you can pick up local information from the several guides that frequent the Lodge and their clients who stay there.

This is the place to stay on the Upper Trinity for all steelhead and salmon fishermen and women.”

“I’ve been staying at the Indian Creek Lodge for years and the price, location and rooms are great. It’s nice to come back to a spacious, clean room to relax after a long day on the river.”

“Thank you for the great hospitality & access to the great fishing right behind the lodge. I’ve been guiding the Northern California rivers for a number of years now and the Indian Creek Lodge beats them all for clean, comfortable lodging on a world class river. With a launch right on the property I save driving time and fishing time. The owners are professional, and the hospitality is outstanding.”

This is the most convenient lodging on the Trinity, and their slogan “clean and comfortable with character” really fits.  New owners have nicely refurbished a great old fishing lodge (Bing Crosby frequented the place) and the rooms are comfortable, immaculately clean, and reasonably priced.  The kitchenette units are especially convenient.  Adjacent to the Indian Creek public river access, with private boat launch and several hundred yards of prime accessible fishing water right in back of the Lodge, 32 miles from Redding, 8 miles from Weaverville, right on Highway 299W and the river.
