We booked our room because the driving distance to Redwood was to far. But what a suprise. The room was really clean, big and cosy. A warm welcome with a personal card. And a magnificent view in the backyard on Trinity River.

Never fails to please me when a hotel actually keeps their rooms Clean. Rooms are not fancy, fishing folk don’t need frills, but rates are reasonable, it’s quiet at night, the wifi works and yes! The Cafe has good Italian food on the menu for dinner! I’ll stay again on my way by. Thank you!

Recently the ownership of Indian Creek Lodge made an amazing transformation of the lodge. I have stayed there over the past ten years, and am blown away by the improvements to the rooms, the professionalism of the staff, and the addition of a restaurant. There are very few accommodations in and around Weaverville, but this really the best–even if your are not a fisherman. I would recommend the Lodge to anyone, without reservation.

Excellent relaxing place to stay staff go above and beyond great fishing bird life river side views great restaurant excellent meals will visit again thank you to all the staff great place for family getaway.

After driving 300 miles through Lassen, Burney, Redding this was the final stop to see Weaverville. Nice setting on the river. We sat in back on lawn chairs with our wine and watched the geese. So peacefull. Quiet, seems all retire by 8:00pm. Very comfy room. Micro, fridg, coffee pot. Restaurant was closed, but expected that and had leftovers for dinner, brought breakfast bread, cheese, etc. Bring your own food/drinks; if restaurant is closed nearest store is 8 miles. Couple that runs this, Joel and Mary really know what they are doing. This hotel is 250 miles from me but I would go back just for the lovely experience.

On a recent work trip this place was a real lifesaver. They went above and beyond to help us out. We needed to do our laundry before leaving for Alaska o another fire in the morning. Incredible people that stayed late to take care of us. This is a very nice place that I hope to go back to for leisure some day.

I recently stayed at Indian Creek Lodge due to work in Weaverville. All staff at ICL were extremely friendly, and accommodating. They learned I needed to set up a computer and printer, and immediately brought a card table and chair to my room. The housekeeper asked if I needed anything, and even asked if I would like her to bring a lounge chair. I don’t think I have encountered such great staff. The grounds were beautifully maintained. I need to return to Weaverville again in 2 weeks, and will not hesitate to stay there again.

We stayed in room #15 for 3 nights with 3 adults and 2 kids – this room was spacious and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice and clean the room was as well as how beautiful this lodge is. Our room consisted of one queen bed in the main room, the second room had a queen bed + a twin, a bathroom w/ a shower only (no bath), A/C, a small kitchen with four electric burners, a mini fridge, a back patio with a picnic table, and bbq (bring your own briquettes). The kitchen was pretty stocked (would have liked a plastic bowl for a family style salad but we used a large cooking pan instead), coffee maker with coffee included! There is a beautiful path out back that you can walk to the river which was so great for the kids. Go out there early in the morning and I promise you will see so much wildlife (we’re city people so this kind of stuff amazes us). I saw a deer, otters, jumping fish, and AN EAGLE!!! I still can’t believe my dad and I saw an eagle! The pool was very nice for the kids – the water was cold for me but it was 100+ degrees and the young ones loved it, and I loved the lounge chairs around the pool! All of the staff we encountered were all very nice and helpful. I highly recommend this lodge when staying in the Weaverville area. You won’t be disappointed – it’s the nicest you will get in the area. The Indian Creek Lodge is truly an amazing place that I will never forget and that I hope to visit again one day.

MarVistaBaby, Los Angeles, CA July 2015

Quiet, peaceful and clean place to stay after a long day in the river. Indian Creek is directly behind the rooms. There was plenty of grass to walk our little dog. WIFI free but slow, the AC was nice and cold & there was coffee and a coffee pot in our room. The lodge had everything we needed. 🙂

MelonyE, July 2015

The buildings are older but everything is clean and shiny and in working order. We wanted a king bed and were given a family suite even though it was far too large. Kitchenette, barbeque on the patio, and sleeps 5. The property fronts on a branch of the Trinity River and could host a family vacation for a week easily. Pool-table tennis- volleyball net: all in sight.

We decided to take a little side trip on our way to a wedding near Yreka. We drove a few hours to get to Indian Creek Lodge so we would be closer to our mid morning destination. We loved the room and the location! Excellent comfy room, nice decor, and beautiful surroundings. I would stay there again. Price was right and room was awesome! Downside: the area beyond the paths near the river had a lot of duck muck. The AC was a little loud but the bed was awesomely comfortable.

TammyandBobW, Folsom, CA July 2015

The DH made the reservation for me, so I really didn’t know what to expect. I was delightfully surprised, This is a 1950’s motel that has been recently very nicely refinished. The room was nicely decorated and painted and evoked a sense of calm. Almost like stepping inside and you let go of your breath you hadn’t realized you were holding!
Two notable things, The room smelled of nothing! It didn’t smell like pain, cleaning solutions or air freshener or laundry soap! It was a mighty pleasant sensation! 2nd was the room was so CLEAN! In the closet area, I lost my balance and had to grab onto a ledge, I pulled my hand away CLEAN! No dust, no grime, no nothing! don’t know why this delighted me but it did! We had come to play in the river for a few days but due to an injury accident we were not able to even walk to river or the pool. We also had to cut our trip short, so I can’t report on much else. The bath in our room (3) was not totally handicap accessible, there was a shower only, which required a step up and over a ledge. Very 1950’s in design and tile, the only thing not updated but perfectly serviceable. Beds were new and very comfortable with a selection of pillows. Working AC and overhead fan were a godsend as the temps were ranging in the triple digits during our stay, walking outside was like steping into an oven. But room was very comfortable. Don’t know if you will find a better place in the area! And check out the newly opened Cafe, YUM.

PaulaM549, San Francisco, CA June 2015

What a beautiful and serene place to spend your time in Trinity County! The room was updated and clean, and had a great view of the Trinity River. Landscaping was immaculate. I wish we had stayed during a warmer month to fully enjoy the back porch area (we stayed in late April this year). Just a short drive to Weaverville and convenient along Hwy 299 to the coast (a 2 hour drive). Our host was welcoming and helpful. Wifi access was good, but didn’t use it much anyway. Overall we’ll try to stay here when we go back up to the Weaverville area again.

J M, May 2015

I am very happy I found Indian Creek Lodge near Weaverville CA. The room and bath is modern, lovely, very comfortable, quiet (no road noise) and clean. Added bonus is back porch w/ barbeque, large grassy area in back w creek flowing by and view of mountains/trees.. I heard frogs and saw ducks .Only short 7 miles to Weavervville. Mary/Joel managers and cleaning staff are friendly and helpful. No hesitation to recommend to lodge here.

Renata B., May 2015

This lodge is more of a motel gone upscale. I was here for the casting for recovery event. We took the place over. This is a great location to explore the trinity area. Hiking, fishing, boating, biking it is all near by. The upstairs apartment and meeting room would be great for a family gathering. Owners are awesome they gave me a hiking trail map and instructions on how to get to the best places.

Ginney55Sebastopol, CA April 2015

Our stay at Indian Creek Lodge was so restful and pleasant. Our room had a kitchenette which made it so nice to have our meals right there after a long day of site seeing. We had all of the amenities of home without a detail being unnoticed. John and Elena were wonderful hosts and made us feel so comfortable . It was nice to be able to see the owners present and to take such an interest in the guests staying at the lodge. The river runs right through the property and it was so beautiful to be able to look out of our kitchen window at the wooded backdrop of the forest. Fishing was just steps away! We would love to come back and float the river. The property is perfect for a family vacation or reunion or just a short restful couples getaway from the city as we did. I guarantee you will leave a feeling refreshed!

Jhwytreehuggers, March 2015

In the past year my husband, my dog and I have stayed at Indian Creek Lodge on 5 separate occasions. I initially stayed here for a “scrapbook retreat”. We liked it so much, we stayed in the summer time to enjoy some hiking. The lodge is simple, several rooms allow dogs, some rooms have a nice kitchenette set-up, and a back door for patio access. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The parking is easy and you are right off of highway 299, so it is convenient for lots of activities without having to camp. We love the Trinity Forest, however, due to the ongoing drought, many campsites have turned off fresh drinking water and closed the flush bathrooms. There have been porta-potties set up at the campgrounds :(. So, this lodge is perfect as a gateway to day use of the campsites, and boating. Since the water level is so low, only one boat ramp is open. There is a wonderful, refreshing creek that runs behind the lodge, as well as huge expansive lawn area with lawn furniture. It is a wonderful place to stay.

Ediver, March 2015

Stay at ICL this weekend with my fishing club people were friendly, rooms were clean, location is perfect. I will stay there again and would recommend to anyone that is on a fishing trip or an out in the area.

Frank C., January 2015

We’re hooked! Perfect spot for our family of 4 to launch our first of hopefully many rafting/fishing trips. Everything was clean, managers friendly and accommodating, able to cook dinners in the lovely kitchen and grill outdoors. Huge grassy area for our young boys to play on along with gorgeous views and nighttime fishing right out our back door. We will definitely be back…in fact boys trip already booked for November!

Nikki B.Reno, NV October 2014

Indian Creek Lodge is my choice for trinity river accomodations. I love waking up on the river. I have found several fishing options within walking distance. I have laucnched my boat fron the lodges convenient and private boat ramp. The renovated rooms are clean and the sttaff is friendly and accomodating. After a long fishing day I love to relax while watching sports center, checking emails and fishing reports on the wifi access. When I go fishing with a group we love to get a room with a kitchenette. If you visit in the summer the pool is an added bonus, it can get hot!

Michael O.Monterey, CA September 2014

We stayed one night in September 2014 as a family of 3. The room was clean and comfortable, the grounds were well-kept and the location was a surprise in terms of the wide open valley and the beautiful clear river bordering the grounds at the back. There was a table-tennis table and somewhere to sit on an upstairs balcony out of the sun looking over the grounds and river. It was very restful and the hosts were friendly and helpful. Weaverville is only a few minutes up the road by car and is well worth visiting to see the old street, novel spiral staircases to the upstairs shops and to eat at La Grange Café. All in all, Indian Creek Lodge is a great place to stay and good value for money. As we were touring, it was useful that we could stay just one night but we would have liked to have stayed longer and would definitely come here again.

cotswaldRABCotswold, UK September 2014

My friend and I stayed here September 8 & 9 to fish. The Indian Creek Lodge has about a 1/4 mile frontage on the Trinity River, one of the best in California for salmon, steelhead and trout fishing. Located on Highway 299W near Weaverville, this section of California allows you to experience what our state was like before settlers arrived. Tinity County has only 13k population and covers over 3,000 square miles (mostly forest and pristine wilderness).
I can understand the positive reviews for weddings here, the large meadow between the lodge and river is picture perfect. We booked the two day fishing special package. This included two days with an expert guide, Todd LeBoeuf— on his drift boat, $100 credit at La Grange Cafe in Weaverville and two nights lodging. We caught our limit of salmon both days. Todd knows every ripple and hole in the river and how they play out with different water levels. The LaGrange Cafe is in a beautifully restored gold rush building. They have a wine list that rivals the top San Francisco restaurants, at one half the price.
Even if we didn’t catch a fish, the trip would have been worth it. This is one of the prettiest stretches of river in the west. I could’ve lounged on the lodge’s river bank with a book and enjoyed it as much. The owners, John and Elena Letton, created a perfect way to vacation on the river. Our room was equipped with a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The beds had new, firm mattresses. We slept well.
We will be coming back in November or December for steelhead season. You won’t find a better spot in the Weaverville area. I recommend it for fishing, romance, hiking base or just relaxing.

MorebearShasta, CA September 2014

Just got back from a two-night stay. What a gem of a place. I was in the area for fishing, so location was our main criteria. Couldn’t have been more pleased. Owners are very nice people. Staff all seemed happy. The rooms are well maintained and clean. The setting on the Trinity River is a bonus. You can actually fish from their property or just lounge by the river. Lots of amenities: bottled water, WiFi, refrigerator, microwave.

Robert H, San Jose, CA, September 2014

I returned to the Weaverville/Trinity area after several decades, hoping to reconnect with memories of family vacations at a small guest ranch in the area; it was in a beautiful setting, and run by a couple whose warm hospitality made us feel like friends more than paying customers. Staying at Indian Creek Lodge was a perfect place to stay for making new happy memories of the area. It’s a beautifully maintained property, and the staff conveyed a genuine sense of caring about the guests’ experience (including excellent email communication before and after my stay). Alas, words can’t express the value of a distinct feature of this lodging: being able to walk across an expansive lawn to sit at the edge of the iconic Trinity River. Old-growth forest in every direction, only the sound of the rippling water. I’ll be dreaming of a return.

Maggie W, CA, August 31 2014

If your going on a hike in the Trinity Alps you probably should consider the Indian Creek Lodge as your home base. Very pleasant setting on the river with cleverly designed rooms. Lot’s of space, WiFi works, TV works with limited stations, cell phone connections were great for me and a late afternoon relax on the bank of the river out back can’t be beat. The motel is just 10 minutes from Weaverville and the southern entrance to the National Forest.

Doug-in-SF, San Francisco, CA, August 30 2014

What a find! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at the beginning of August. Staff was friendly, room was spotless, beds comfortable. While the kitchen wasn’t huge, it was very clean and well supplied and fine for simple meal preparation. Loved the expansive “backyard” with a short walk down to the Trinity River for fishing and bird watching. We enjoyed the pool as well. Weaverville is a short drive away if you need a meal out, but we really didn’t want to leave the property, as it was so peaceful. I would return in a heartbeat!

25Cam00Durham, NC, August 8, 2014

When we were looking for a place to stay on our way from Redwood N.P. to Lassen Volcanic N.P. we accidently found this little gem. Too bad that it is listed under Douglas City instead of nearby Weaverville. It would be great if tripadvisor would change this! The friendly owners are doing a great job of making this motel a truly wonderful place whether you stay for a night or for a little vacation. The rooms are very clean and nicely furnished with comfortable beds. Ideal for couples or families as well. The lodge, the pool and the whole property is in perfect condition.
The beautiful trinity river runs just behind the premises for those who love fishing or kayaking.
Visit their website (iclodge.net) for their different rooms and reasonable rates! We highly recommend this lodge!

Hanno TBielefield, Germany, August 2 2014

This is an extremely well-maintained property. It features very comfortable and clean rooms as well as a nice swimming pool and beautiful location next to the Trinity River It is infinitely better than any of its competition in VERY nearby Weaverville. Note to Tripadvisor: This property should be listed under Weaverville. This would be a great benefit to Tripadvisor users who travel in this area.

First, let me say that the one-star review posted this week was entertaining. What? No copper-bottom pans and crystal drinking glasses in the kitchen? What? A 50 yard stroll on meticulously maintained grounds to get to the river?
We found the staff to be very accomodating with our early check-in request. The 2 bedroom with kitchen was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable with lots of pillows. The air conditioning kept up well with the warm weather, but was quiet. Plenty of hot water in the shower. It was nice to be able to serve meals on the shared back porch, and watch kayaks float by. The pool was clean, and the pool beach towels were great. The grounds of the motel are park-like with maintained landscaping, lots of seating, and good access to the very cold river. We had fun talking to the fishermen.

We had fun talking to the fishermen. I cannot say enough about the owner and managers of this place. My family of 4 biological brothers (and now cousins, nephews have joined us), ride Harleys and we coordinate at least one ride per year.
Our first night is the most important, so when I chose Indian Creek Lodge, the owner and managing team proved to be an excellent choice. Knowing that 10 of us would be arriving from all directions on our Harleys, we would be tired and hungry. John coordinated with a local grocery store and personally brought out food for us. (we had pre-selected the menu), and kept it hot for 4hours until we all arrived.
He had also prepared tables and table cloths, flatware and dishes for us right by the horsehoe pits where we had our annual family tournament.
They were great to work with. Good management and I (and my family) heartily encourage you to stay here.
Oh, and did I mention they are Harley friendly?
Ride safe.

Dorothy B., Seattle, WA, July 4 2014

I stayed in the apartment upstairs at the main lodge, and it was perfect for my family. It has two bedrooms (one with a queen and a second with two full/queen both with ceiling fans), one full bathroom, full kitchen (stove, micro, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, dishwasher), a dining room, and a sitting room with a tv. We really felt like we had the place to ourselves, and made use of the upstairs open breezeway that had a view of the Trinity River. The walk from the Lodge to the river was beautiful, and the views were even better on the banks. There were chairs scattered on the property that made it easy to relax in the shade and enjoy the view. The pool was well maintained and clean, and there was even a horseshoe pit! The best part about the pool and pit was that they were far enough away from our room that we could hear people enjoying them without it being intrusive. The Lodge also coordinated ordering a meal from the local grocery store for us. We were able to bring in some grilled food, pastas, salads, and bread from the grocery store at a very reasonable price. We just asked the front desk how to coordinate it and they set it all up for us! The Lodge also helped us figure out which outfitters to use for our daily excurisions and they really set us up well with those. My family had a blast doing a slow canoe trip down to the Lodge, then traveling farther down the Trinity to do some whitewater rafting. The place was so well maintained, without feeling stuffy. You never forget the purpose of your stay there, which is to enjoy the outdoors and fishing, but we never felt like we were ever “roughing it!” We will definitely be back, and I would recommend this place to anyone who really wants to get away for a bit, whether you are from down the road or across the country. The best part of the whole trip was feeling secluded from a city but knowing that Weaverville was so close. Exactly what this city girl likes from her fishing lodge! I cannot emphasize how wonderful our trip was and how quickly I would like to return!

Jane P., Kansas City, MO, June 25 2014

In mid June of this year I spent 6 nights and five days at Indian Creek Lodge just outside of Weaverville,Ca. Indian Creek Lodge was our families choice to be headquarters for a week of mountain hiking and rafting / kayaking on the Trinity River. We could not have made a better pick. The guest rooms were spotless and the grounds were beautifully taken care of. Early mornings and late afternoons in particular were a pleasant time to sit out on our deck or lounge by the swimming pool. The Lodge is situated right on the Trinity River and the impression you get of being surrounded by fir trees is very relaxing. The sound of the river and the smell of the pine trees made for very nice sleeping after a busy day. I particularly enjoyed walking down to the river early in the morning with my first cup of coffee and watching the fish jump. The feeling of “getting away from it all” was complete. From the friendly, helpful staff to the picturesque setting I could strongly recommend Indian Creek Lodge to anyone planning on spending time in Northern California. My family and I certainly enjoyed it.

Tom N., Kansas City, MO, June 26 2014

Our family of 5 & 2 small dogs stayed in room 15 which is a 2 room apt. It had a large weber & picnic table on a private back patio overlooking the river. We had an amzing time! No complaints! Everything was outstanding! Not too far out of town from Weaverville.

SimonaItaliana, Roseville, CA, June 8 2014

I spent a weekend here in late April with some friends. I was at first concerned that the lodge was close to the road. That was not really a problem, even though I could hear some road noise. The walls between rooms were very well insulated and no noise traveled through them. Located on the banks of the Trinity the lodge provides a great base for fishermen or just for relaxing on the river. This was my first fly-fishing experience and I caught 5 trout (catch and release). What fun! The hosts were gracious and very accommodating and the food was excellent. The rooms are very clean, beds comfortable and charming. I stayed in a double room, not one of the units with stove. I did have a microwave and refrigerator, however. Indian Creek Lodge is very close to Weaverville with its cute shops. But, just sitting by the river and enjoying the tranquility was the greatest attraction.

deli0, San Francisco, CA, May 5 2014

I was at Indian Creek Lodge in September, 2013 for a Casting For Recovery (CFR) weekend. The area around the lodge is even more beautiful than the photos. You can stroll from your room to the riverbank and sit and talk with friends or just stand there and enjoy the tranquility. The spacious rooms have very comfortable beds. I shared a two-bedroom unit with a CFR participant I didn’t know. The rooms are constructed so everyone has their privacy. I mention this because the lodge accommodates groups really well. There were about 20 people in our group. Anyone traveling with a large family or a club might want to know the lodge also has a good size room for gatherings or classes or meetings. We used the room for our classes. The meals were delicious and dishes were presented so beautifully we started taking pictures of our food! I keep talking to people about the weekend because the Casting for Recovery experience was so powerful and staying at Indian Creek Lodge was in itself so healing. If you know anyone who has been treated for Breast Cancer, please let her know about Casting for Recovery. I can’t stop talking about how transformative it was to cast in the river, to feel so incredibly supported by community in the middle of so much natural beauty.

Shira F.Berkeley, CA, March 22 2014

My son and I stayed at Indian Creek Lodge while Steelhead fishing on he Trinity in early January. The accommodations were quite nice – the room warm after a days fishing – and above all were very clean and neat. My son and I would highly recommend Indian Creek Lodge for your next trip in the Douglas City or Weaverville area.

Willie Fisch, Lafayette, CA, January 22 2014

We loved our stay and will return the next time we visit the stunningly beautiful area, comparable to the Sierras in every way, except for not being overrun year-round with tourists.

Timskim, Sacramento, CA, September 2013

Just returned from a weekend package stay at the IC Lodge – 2 days lodging, 2 days guided steelhead fishing, and dinner at the LaGrange Cafe for a great price. Our room was immaculate, the location perfect, and the staff friendly and responsive. A great place to stay on the Trinity River.

RobertSF Bay Area, CA, October 28, 2013

They just couldn’t be any nicer or any more helpful at this Lodge. If you are looking for a place to stay on the Trinity , please stay here. It is the BEST. This was our second time staying at this lodge. We would have stayed longer but they were booked. 🙁 They have rooms with microwave and frig, or they have rooms with Kitchens, Patios. You can just walk outside your room and walk to the water to fish. They have nice chairs out on the lawn to sit in and watch the river. It is not a good swimming river, but they do have a pool. They have rooms that would suit anyone, or a group. They have ping Pong, Darts, fishing, swimming.. I would take my family and just go hang out for a few day. Just take your food with you.. If you go to Weaverville wich is 8 miles up the road, go to the Garden Cafe for breakfast and get an omlet which will feed 4 people for sure. Wow.. I have never seen such a big omelet. Kurt showed us around and helped us with a couple of things that we needed.. I don’t think I have ever had such great service at a Lodge. He was the BEST!!

Sally J., Manteca, CA, October 27, 2013

I really enjoyed my stay at the Lodge. My room was very clean and well appointed. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The location is beautiful and peaceful. What a treat to walk by the sparkling clean river and watch the fish jump out of the water. The pool was great on hot days.  It was my first trip to the area. I am so pleased I choose the Lodge.

Linny, Brockton, MA, August 2013

We found Indian Creek lodge to be a real treat! The place was spotless and clean. . . . Had a nice outside area to play cards and have a drink, a ping pong table, free ice,a beautiful pool, with nice fluffy towels waiting there for you when you got out of the pool! The owners were VERY nice people, who told us of a golf course near by and a few other things for us to do while we stayed there. It was very quiet and restful and we will indeed, be going back again. If you haven’t tried this place yet, you need to.

Candace W, Sacramento, CA, August 2013

Indian Creek Lodge was a wonderful find! On both my visits the grounds were well kept, the rooms extremely clean and fresh, the decor very nice with a rustic touch and a homey, comfortable feel. The owners and staff were enthusiastic, friendly and helpful, clearly proud of the improvements that have been made and the accommodations they offer to the lucky people who find this unique, quiet, beautiful spot on the Trinity River.

Stormy L., Brookings, OR, July 2013

ICL is a place to disconnect & restore your soul. The grounds are beautiful, the river is breathtaking, the pool is inviting, the rooms are clean, homey, nicely furnished and spacious. The kitchen units come complete with everything we need and the owners & staff are very solicitous, kind & accommodating.

Patty F, Agua Dulce, CA, August 2013

We had an amazing time at the Indian Creek Lodge for our yearly Girl Trip. Our room was clean, nicely decorated and had everything that we needed to be comfortable. The grounds and landscaping were lovely. It is so nice to be able to take just a short walk to the beautiful Trinity river. We come from the land of fog, and it was a very short trip – only one night for us, and we really wanted more pool time than the 11 a.m. checkout would allow. Fortunately, Kurt allowed us to enjoy the sun and gorgeous pool for a few hours even after we had checked out. This little bit of kindness moved our experience from great to absolutely wonderful.

Kristabel01, Eureka, CA July 2013

Stayed here three nights in a kitchen unit with views of the meadow and Trinity River. One night is not enough. The owners and hosts are amazingly helpful, and their love of this property shines through. Highly recommended by someone — me — who takes great care in how I spend my vacation time and money. You will make great memories here!

Newsgirl, Auburn, CA, June 2013

After a long day on the road this was a perfect place to stop, if only for one night. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well stocked. There’s even a barbeque complete with briquettes. It was a lovely day and we had dinner on the patio with a view of the Trinity River. The bed was comfortable and we had a great night’s sleep. My only regret was that we had to move on in the morning. Would loved to have stayed longer.

Jmt Everett, WA, June 2013

We stayed there two time’s and loved it and plan on staying real soon for our honeymoon.  It is the best place that I have stayed in a long long time.  Next time we go hope to do some fishing and boating down the river.and maybe some golfing and hiking.  So much fun–we really enjoyed it so much.

Stuart and Suzy Mattson, West Haven, Utah, May 2013

We stayed the weekend in the Indian Creek Lodge to do some fishing. It was sooooo much better than any expectations or reviews. It was wonderful! Clean, perfect location. Great host and owners. Everything about the weekend was way beyond our expectations. You can tell the owners take personal pride in this lodge since purchasing it a few years ago. The rooms were perfectly clean and had wonderful personal touches throughout. YOu can’t beat the setting and location. Seriously just a few steps away from fabulous fishing and the river. We had the privilege of enjoying superb (seriously top notch!!!) meals ass we were a part of a larger group and this was prearranged (through the Lodge).

John W., San Francisco, CA, April 4 2013

We needed a stop over place for our last night after our whirlwind tour of Southern OR. I chose this as it’s SO incredibly reasonably priced and good grief, what a location, right on the Trinity River. We gave Kurt, the manager a call when we knew we’d be arriving late. What a nice man! My husband called as I was driving and somehow the conversation got around to what time we were going to be leaving. My honey mentioned that he really wanted a guide to take him salmon fishing, would that be possible? Kurt told him, possibly, but it’s very short notice and that it would be pricey. No prob. He said he’d make some calls. Does this happen at Marriott or Hilton? Nah. We continued driving and the phone rang again and it was Kevin, who turned out to be Tim’s salmon fishing guide. They made plans for Kevin to be at our room at 4:15am. Yawn. . . . All in all, very nice folks, rates are incredibly reasonable for location and what you get. Be aware, no food available here. You’d have to go a few miles away into Weaverville for vittles. 😉 Staff are all very nice and accommodating…thanks guys, we will come back!!

Looking for a great, affordable place to stay while you enjoy the magic of the Trinity River Canyon, Indian Creek Lodge is it! I only stay here when steelheading on the Trinity, usually 4 weekends a year from November through March. While the accommodations aren’t 5 star, they are clean and comfortable and the management and staff get an A+ in customer service. I have been coming here for over 10 years now and the current owners have made significant investment in the property and it is perfect for a home base when fishing the river for a long weekend. Room Tip: If you want a really nice apartment style room that sleeps 5+ with a full kitchen, choose Room 9.

Trevor Fagerskog, San Ramon, CA, March 2013

I had a great stay at Indian Creek Lodge. My rom was clean and comfortable. It had all of the amenities I needed. I especially appreciate having the microwave and refrigerator. The grounds are beautiful, and the staff were helpful and friendly. I would stay here again.

Shannon J., Fremont, CA, January 2013

Cute little hotel sort of in the middle of no where. We were visiting friends in Weaverville, and found this place. The staff was friendly over the phone while we made reservations, very personable when we checked in, and helpful when we switched rooms (because the room we were in the first two nights was already booked).
The place is a little older, but it’s kept up nicely! New indoor siding, new dresser and tv, and carpet too I believe. There’s a creek in the back too, so the scenery is pretty.
Great price too 🙂

Staff was FABULOUS! Incredibly friendly and helpful! Room was neat, clean, roomy and well equipped. Cell phone coverage and WI-fi was something I have never had on the Trinity River. Very quiet, and right on the Trinity River. We will DEFINITLEY be regulars from now on, and have in fact already booked a return trip. Tim H., Douglas City June 2012

We really enjoyed our stay at Indian Creek Lodge. It was simple and clean. Nicely renovated. The bed was comfortable and clean. Played golf all day and came back to the Lodge to relax and enjoy the river. The satellite TV was acting funny and the manager, Kurt, helped us to resolve the problem. He went above and beyond to make sure we were content. We will definitely be returning and recommending ICL to all our friends.

The rooms were very clean and the owners, managers, and staff were very friendly and accommodating. I stayed here based on good reviews of this hotel and poor reviews of other hotels in nearby Weaverville. The internet is spotty but you’re not likely here for internet service when the Trinity River is out back.

Rob H., Lakewood Colo, May 2012

I really enjoyed my stay at Indian Creek Lodge. I stayed one night but wished I had booked a couple of nights. Cozy, clean, safe and close to the river for steelhead fishing, Kurt was more than helpful with tips on where to fish and even called to report the cleaning staff had found an item I’d left in the room. Weaverville is only a few miles away for food and groceries. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to go fishing. If only the other businesses in town were as friendly and courteous. They should go take a customer service lesson from these folks at Indian Creek Lodge.

Sycamore 565, Danville CA, Jan 2012

I have stayed at Indian Creek Lodge a couple of times now on trips to the Trinity. It’s in a good location and is a good value. The owners have done alot of work on the property and it really shows

Oteman, San Jose, CA, Jan 2012

Each year this lodge gets a little bit better. The rooms have been gradually upgraded with comfortable beds and better bathrooms. They recently added cell boosters so mobile phone service is now quite reliable. WiFi is OK with modest bandwidth. The lodge can now offer shuttles for those who float the river. During much of the steelhead season Indian Creek is a productive launch or take out location. Weaverville is a 10 minute drive with a fine restaurant (La Grange) and a super market. The owners are very personable and willing to do anything to make your stay more comfortable. I will continue to come back when fishing the Trinity for steelhead.

Troutbumpa, Palo Alto, CA, Jan 2012

We had a nice clean and recently updated 2 bedroom unit with a small kitchenette and a BBQ on a patio out back. Very quiet except for the heater which was a bit noisy. Nice large lawn area between the lodge and the Trinity River. People running the hotel were friendly and helpful. Prices are very fair. Be aware that this lodge is about 10 miles away from any services, (gas, stores, eateries, etc… are in Weaverville or Lewiston) except for a small country store a couple miles away in Douglas City.

Flexabull, Redding, CA, Dec 2011

I was just getting ready to make my reservation and thought I’d check out the comments first. Since I was so impressed, I decided to add mine! We have joined friends at the ICL for the last two years and must say that the 2010 trip was fabulous. The new owners have really taken pride in this place and it shows. The rooms are GREAT, the owners and staff are very friendly and there to help with anything. The kids love the pool and having the kitchens and BBQs makes the stay very comfortable. We really enjoyed oursleves and are looking forward to the 2011 trip. Gotta go now. Have to make my reservation!

Osandjsmummy, Loleta CA, March 2011

My family and I took a road trip to Indian Creek Lodge over the winter holiday. We had a VERY clean room with two bedrooms, a full bath and kitchen. What a beautiful place to stay. The grounds are well maintained and the staff was friendly and fun. We can not wait to go again in the summer for a much longer stay. I would highly recommend this lodge weather you are going with a group of girlfriends or guy friends for some fun or with you family.

Heather Brewin, San Ramon, CA, Jan 2011

After looking for quite a while for a place to stay in this area, I decided on Indian Creek Lodge. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to stay there because it seemed pretty reasonably priced. WELL.. I was so surprised!! It was awesome. CLEAN, nice .. really nice. The people there could not have treated us better. They are by far the greatest hosts I have come across in a long time. I would say, go stay. You will not be sorry.

Sally J, Manteca, CA, August 2010

We come to Indian Creek for an annual gathering of friends. The new owners have really fixed thiings up nicely and made sure our every need was attended. Can’t wait to come back.

kmilr, Pollock Pines, CA, August 2010

Our large group of annualTrinity Rivertubers/rafters has been staying at the Indian Creek Lodge for many years, but our 2010 trip was by far the best! The new owners have obviously put a lot of time and effort into upgrading the rooms, including replacing the very outdated and worn furniture with some nice-looking and functional pieces. They have also cleared the land at the back of the lodge enough that guests can enjoy a clear view of the river while they relax and enjoy the BBQ areas in the back of the kitchenette rooms, but have left just the right amount of trees and undergrowth in place to complement the river view. They have a very nice pool, and there is also a nice, wide cleared path over to the Indian Creek at the north end of the Lodge, providing easy access to a great shallow creek play area for kids of all ages to enjoy. We are very much looking forward to our 2011 visit to the Lodge!

Pamelagio, Eureka CA, August 2010

We used the Indian Creek Lodge as a ‘home base’ of sorts for a 6 day trip to the Trinity Alps area. An excellent value for those looking for a very clean and comfortable place to kick up your heels after a long day in the mountains.

Lasvegasrider, Las Vegas, NV, June 2010

Indian Creek Lodge looks sort of retro and quaint from the outside, but not on the inside! The 3 of us stayed in the 2-bedroom suite with a well-stocked kitchenette and were more than pleasantly surprised when we walked in. It was spacious and immaculately clean. with lots of little special touches. We got the super-gracious and friendly owner to show us some of the other smaller rooms which were equally desirable or even better. Everyone in our row had their own BBQ and picnic table out in back of their room with the river running by not too far away. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2-night stay and would go back whenever we could. This place is more than great!

Flowerfreak101, Whitmore, CA, June 2010

We stayed a couple days in the 2 bedroom suite with kitchenette. Very roomy suite, nice clean kitchenette and bathroom. It is was really great to come back from a busy day of fishing and site-seeing to such a comfortable home. The back porch overlooking the Trinity River right at the Indian Creek was so relaxing. In the evening it was a great place to enjoy the sunset and barbeque up some dinner. Also in the nearby town of Lewiston there is a nice small winery…a must-visit! http://www.onemaplewinery.com/ For great night life and dinner…Weaverville has a very welcoming bar/restaurant called the La Grange Cafe.

Mrfish007, Sunnyvale,CA, May 2010

The new owners of this place were the friendliest people I have ever met in a hotel or motel. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable in our stay and were very helpful in giving us information on the local area. The room was small but that is all we needed. And was very reasonably priced. I want to go back in the summer time when the fish are running and take advantage of their river acces.

Clc88, McKinleyville,CA, May 2010

just spent two nights at Indian Creek Lodge, and they were wonderful. The place is run by longtime locals, a married couple, who know the area like the back of their hands. They were very friendly and want to make your stay in the area a great experience. The lodge sits right where Indian Creek rushes down into the Trinity, which flows right behind the lodge. The room was spotless, including the bathroom, and all the furnishings were things that i would pick out for my own home. The sheets, pillows and comforter did not feel like motel linens…I felt like i was in my mom’s guest room. The nights were chilly, and the bedding was so cozy. The lighting was warm and homey…..the bedside lamps were perfect for reading, not glarey and harsh as in some motels. I didn’t watch TV, but there’s an unobtrusive flat-screen TV, and the microwave and refrigerator are hidden in a wooden chest of drawers, so they’re out of sight. I’m a notoriously bad motel sleeper, but i slept like a log both nights. It was quiet, and if i opened the small window in the bathroom i could hear the frogs peeping in the Trinity River out back. The area is gorgeous. In early May, the Trinity Alps still had quite a bit of snow, making them look even bigger and more dramatic. Just down the road to the east is Whiskeytown Lake, which is huge and beautiful. I didn’t have a chance to do any hiking, but i know there are trails very close by. And Weaverville, just about 5-10 minutes up the road, is a funky, charming town. It’s got a lot of history, but it’s also where nice folks actually live. I am definitely going back.

Sjanefrez, Fresno,CA, May 2010

I travel half the year chasing anadromous fish, and I stay at lots of lodges, motels etc. But for me, there is only one home away from home, and The Indian Creek Lodge is it. Clean, quiet, great staff and right on the Trinity River. Only a few hours from Reno, and you are at a jewel of a river and a Jewel of a Lodge.

William Robinson “renorock”, Reno, NV, April 2010

Reviews on Yelp

The comfortable room had allt he amenities — microwave, refrigerator, Mr Coffee, internet access, and newly refurbished shower. The sound of the nearby Trinity River led to a restful sleep. A Delightful Break.

This is a beautiful place to stay! The grounds are very well maintained and the room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The Trinity River is literally right out the back door and there is a gravel path that leads right to it. The inn is about eight miles from Weaverville and a great option if you are looking for a peaceful and quiet place to stay.

When I rate Indian Creek Lodge with the maximum stars provided by Yelp, I feel that I’ve been unfair….the experience I had there earns many many MORE stars. I had heard about the Indian Creek Lodge thru several guide friends I have, but after having passed by the place EVERYTIME I fished the Trinity River, I’d never stopped in. WHAT A MISTAKE to have passed up on a stay here all those years. Honestly, as I drove by, I had always thought the place had to be outrageous in pricing. I mean you look at the property and see a beautifully maintained facility. Its situated smack dab on the finest fishing grounds available to the Trinity River… in fact you can walk directly from your room on a wide and easy, graveled pathway directly to several portions of the water.. fly fishing, hardware guys …anyone with love of nature and outdoors will find a stay at Indian Creek Lodge rewarding…and truly inexpensive at that. I had in my mind all those years that they would easily command $150 to $200 dollars a night..but my stay was not even HALF that cost. Kurt was maybe the nicest, and quite personable inn keeper I’ve ever encountered in all my travels. He and his staff made certain that I had everything I needed and gave me all the information one might need about fishing, history and latest weather and environment reports. The added feature to staying at ICL, is it’s proximity to many other fine fishing and hiking areas. There’s Steel Bridge, Lewiston,Trinity Center, Coffee Creek just up river..Hay Fork, Douglas City, Weaverville, Junction City, Helena just below. I am a photographer as well as a steelhead, trout and salmon fisherman…and with that said, I found all my passion in these practices, lit up brightly from my stay here at Indian Creek; so much so, that I spent much more time with camera in hand than rod and reel…. no fish, but many wonderful photos…and I’ve been smiling ever since! From now on, Indian Creek Lodge, Kurt and all the fishing and photo opportunity there, makes this my “go to place” for the love affair I’m enjoying with the Trinity River! Don’t pass them by!

My friend Tony Spiva  from Tennesse and I spent 3 nights at the Indian Creek Lodge during a steelhead fishing trip in January.  The rooms were very nice, the beds comfortable, and the rooms were clean, and  warm – as the temperature outside was 17 degrees each morning.  My son from Oregon joined us for the trip and cooked breakfast for us each morning in the compact but complete kitchen.  Both Tony and I are in our 80’s and, “God Willing”, we’ll be back again for a repeater next year.  John, his wife Elena, and Kurt made our stay very enjoyable – and as I mentioned – I hope it will be a repeater for both Tony and me next year.

Bill Fischer, Lafayette,CA, February 2013

Clean room, extremely helpful and friendly staff. It is only 8 min from Weaverville.  All hotels in Weaverville were full but I found this one. I would stay there again, in fact I’m going back with friends.

A.M., Santa Rosa, July 2013

Kristi P, Loleta,CA, July 2013

Traveling to Trinity County for business I was not sure where to stay. Someone recommended Indian Creek Lodge to me, and I am glad that she did. The roomwas clean and comfortable, the grounds are beautiful, and the service was excellent. I Would definitely stay here again.

Shannon J., Fremont, CA,January 2013

Had a great and relaxing time. My better half has gone of fishing and I’ve been able to sit out back and relax. It feels like you are out in the middle of nowhere, when you really are not. Closest town 8 miles away. Come stay and relax.

Lara B., Redding, CA, April 2013

The super friendly staff went out of their way to make an accommodation for my family that totally went above and beyond. Our room was cozy and warm. Unfortunately our stay was because we were attending a funeral the next day. I received an actual email (not an auto response) from the manager Kurt offering his condolences and saying he hopes we could return on happier terms. OUTSTANDING STAFF! Clean rooms. Beautiful location. Very fair prices. We will definitely be returning!

Danny S., Sacramento, CA, February 2013

My fiance and I recently stayed here for three nights for a fishing trip. The rooms were VERY clean and spacious. Kurt, the manager, was awesome. He is super friendly and very accommodating as well as are the owners, John and Elena. They let us keep our salmon in their fridge overnight as well as re-froze our ice packs to keep our fish cold to transport hime. I have already booked a couple more nights with them next menth when I go back to fishwith my son using Tiger T’s guide service (see my review for him too–he’s great!)

Linny and Carla G., Ceres, CA, September 2012

This is a great place. Kurt, the manager, was really friendly and thoughtful; I can’t say enough good about him.

The rooms were spacious and very clean. The beds were comfy. We had the largest unit, with kitchen, diningroom, and livingroom, more room than I have at home! Too cold to go in the pool, but it looks quite nice. The scenic country side was wonderful to absorb. We had rousing ping-pong games, and enjoyed hanging out. A lovely stay for a very good value.

Janice W., Aptos Ca, April 2012

Really enjoyed our stay here. Very clean, comfortable accommodations. Flat screen TV, furnishings and bedspread were updated. We golfed all day long and came back to the lodge to relax and enjoy the river. Kurt, the manager, and John, the owner were both very helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The “Stay and Play” package was a great value and we will definitely be taking advantage of it again in the future.

Katy H, Redding, CA, May 2012

This is a great place. The new owners are John and Elena, and they have an excellent management couple now, too.
Rooms are big and clean. Beds good. Kitchenette units even better, with back doors and barbecues. Lots of nice extras like hooks for your waders and chairs outside for putting them on. They have a meeting room upstairs and now a cafe with a restaurant kitchen, for catered events. I can’t say enough good things about this place. I also forgot something, and they mailed it back to me. But the best part is wading out into the river RIGHT THERE whenever I want to fish.
Love this place and these people. Very good value and the location can’t be beat. Close to Weaverville and Lewiston Lake.

LH, Mountain View, CA, November 2010

After being treated oh-so-rudely by a lady on the phone at another hotel in Weaverville I decided to check this place out, and I am so glad that I did! They were really nice, the room was comfy and clean, the wi-fi was free, but kinda slow and spotty, and the area is beautiful! If you need a place to stay in this area I definitely recommend it!!!
